Math Factor is the Math Club of Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. Math Factor is dedicated to promoting education through exposure to mathematical challenges and career opportunities by encouraging student collaboration and participation. Math Club members and friends should check this website often to keep up-to-date with our special activities and events.
Recent News:
After long hiatus Math Factor is back up (And we need your help!)
Math Factor is currently looking to start holding meetings, activities and participate in competitions. Anyone is welcome to join -- math is for everyone, and so is this club!
We're currently working on the following objectives:
- Open elections for new Vice President, Treasurer
- Hold book sales (currently set for 7 March 2008)
- Perform math journal presentations and lectures with faculty and other scholars
- Make new t-shirts and slogans or reprint the "What's Your Sine?' shirt.
- Pizza party or dinner
If you can help out with any of these, contact us at mathfactor@weber.edu or leave a note on the board in the Math Students Room, Room 507 in the Math Building (Building 4). Watch this site for more news and to see when the next meeting will be held.

New Math Factor Website
Our new website is now up. A few sections are still under construction and will be added soon. Let us know at mathfactor@weber.edu if you have any ideas for the website, Math Factor activities, or anything else you think we should hear.

Organizational Meeting
The Organizational Meeting took place on Wednesday, September 13th, 2006. The new presidency has been chosen and is listed on the left side. Discussion centered around what kind of activities we'd like to plan for this year. Current ideas include:
- Creating a Math Factor t-shirt and/or cap
- Book sale(s)
- Presentations
- Field Trips (to math-related places such as Thiokol, etc.)
- Parties (bowling, pizza, movie night(s), "pi" - 3.14.07 - party)
- Creating a math "Problem of the Week" (possibly with small prizes)
We haven't finalized all the dates and times of the various activities, so check back later for that. Also, if you have any ideas for activities, please send them to us at mathfactor@weber.edu.
